Ever felt powerless while out and about with a friend? Powerless as in your opinions or words aren't heard-that if you stop walking with them you would be left behind. You do call them 'friends'of course but you wonder if those words do actually mean what you would just love for them to mean? Why is it that you always end up with people who do this to you in your time here as an earthling? You stop being their friend when you disobey their 'orders' but they never seem to pay heed to any of your needs or your self respect and regularly proceed to trample over it.
I believe though the friends may be a part of the problem, a bigger part of the problem is that guy/gal in the mirror when you look at it head on.Be vocal about your needs and note that self interests should never be put on the back burner unless you are sure your friend will do the same for you as and when the need arises.Sometimes people take you for granted because you let them. Feeling powerless and not having control of your actions can be a frustrating experience.A quote from the movie 'Dead Poet's Society' which puts it aptly-"you must strive to find your own voice, cause the longer you wait to begin the less likely you are to find it at all."
